10 Cards | 1 Kit – Spellbinders December Card Kit (Part 1 of 2)

Hello Everyone,

Hope you’re having a great week! Today I’m sharing part 1 of my 10 cards, 1 kit using the Spellbinders December card kit. So a lot of these cards are holiday-themed because the stamp sentiments included were Be Festive and Happy Holidays. You could easily substitute other stamps that you have in your stash, but I decided to just go ahead and use the stamps included and I’ll save those to mail out next Christmas. Without further ado here is the video:

Here are your close-ups:

1

Such a cute deer – I could’ve used lots of those! The small flowers and leaves are finicky pieces, but I love that they include different sizes because this was the perfect addition and often times you can’t find dies that small.

1 inside

There aren’t enough words to explain how much I adore this sentiment stamp. That font. I want an entire stamp set of it!

1 close2

I used this bear on several cards – he’s so cute, I love that scarf and big black nose!

2 inside

I kept the inside simple here with just a stamped sentiment.

2 close3

This sentiment die cut is a great size – you could use it just by itself on a card front. I’m a bit obsessed with flowers lately (can you tell? lol), probably because it’s so gray and cold outside.

3 inside

Leaving this inside simple too so this could be used now and not just at Christmas time.

3 close4

Oh my, I love every card with this sentiment. It works great with the sketchy look of the mason jar too and I love the play of the poppy and mustard colors together. This mason jar was a lot of fun to stamp and there were lots of items to fill it with.

4 inside

Again keeping the inside simple again…I’ll probably add some type of “to you and yours” sentiment on the inside before I send it next year.

4 close5

This brown string is a really lovely texture. Instead of tying it in a bow I thought I’d leave it a little more masculine with a knot and then added some flowers to set it off and balance out the bear.

5 inside

Again I’m keeping the inside simple and added those flowers at the bottom to balance out the bunch on the opposite corner from the front.

5 close 1

Lovely dimension.

Thanks for stopping to check out my cards – make sure you come back tomorrow to see the final five. xoxo, Sarah

13 Days of Halloween – Day 11 | Escaping Ghosts!

Hello there,

Happy Halloween! Today is going be another double video day as I’m now totally out of time. First I’ve got this jar of escaping ghosts for you. I used the Lawn Fawn How you Bean stamp set for the jar elements, the candy corn add-on for the sentiment and spooktacular for those cute little ghosts. I thought it’d be fun to have them escaping out of that loose jar lid.

Here is how I put it together:

And here are your close-ups:

front

I used Intense Black ink to stamp out those ghosts – remember if you’re going to stamp on vellum like I did, you need to heat set it so it doesn’t smear. Alternatively, you could also just heat emboss them.

inside

Since the ghosts on the outside are so busy, I kept the inside simple with just a matching stripe of the background paper.

How many ghosts do you think you could fit in a jar?

Thanks for stopping by to check out my card. xoxo, Sarah

10 Cards | 1 Kit – SSS August Card Kit (Part 1 of 2)

Helloooooo!

I’m so happy to be back and sharing my SSS August 10 Cards, 1 Kit video…better late than never right ?!? I absolutely loved this stamp set. The flowers are gorgeous and it was full of so many different little sentiments to really make the cards your own. Here is the first half of what I came up with:

And here are some close-up photos of the finished cards:

1

That jar of flowers is just such a sweet image and really pops next to the black and white of the script paper and sentiments.

1 inside

For the inside, I stamped the jar image using Lawn Fawn Minty Fresh Ink. This is a nice light ink so it will be very easy to write over if necessary.

Stamping Ink for all Copic coloring: Memento Tuxedo Black Ink

Copics: RV63, RV66, R35, R43, YG45, YG25, BG10

2

Cutting out those detailed fences was time-consuming, but so worth it in the end.

2 inside

That poppy was my favorite flower out of all of them. I was so happy with the inside of this card, I considered trying to do the same partial coloring idea for the outside of a card (and still might!)

2 close

Copics: R17, YR07, RV66, RV63, YG45, YG25

3

I’m such a sucker for a rainbow – I literally love one on anything. This card makes me so happy 🙂

3 inside

Every rainbow needs some gold at the end – this one has some gold washi.

3 close

Rainbows, hearts, and clouds – I’m dating myself here but I just keep thinking “Care Bear Stare” when I look at it.

4

This wreath is just a gorgeous stamp. I really wanted some single flowers and leaves to color and add all the way around the ring. Though I’m not sure I would have wanted to fussy cut all of them!

4 inside

I was thinking of maybe adding one more flower to the wreath so I fussy cut it out but it didn’t look quite right. Luckily I was able to add it to the inside panel.

Ink: Simon Says Stamp Barely Beige

Prismacolors: 1002, 923, 122, 912, 913, 989, 988

5

I was channeling some sort of flower shop with this card or maybe the inside of a potting shed. The variety of flowers in this set was amazing and I really enjoyed coloring these stamps.

5 inside

The contrast of that minty fresh and the tangy orange card stock is one of my favorite combinations.

Ink: Simon Says Stamp Intense Black

Prismacolors: 934, 1008, 1009, 1063, 1051, 912, 913, 989, 988, 929, 994, 928, 1013, 1014, 916, 942, 1012, 122, 923, 945, 1032, 118, 1033, 920, 992, 911, 1002

As always thanks for stopping by to check out my cards…Part 2 coming soon! xoxo, Sarah

10 Cards | 1 Kit – SSS June Card Kit (Part 2 of 2)

Hello,

I’m back today with part two of my 10 Cards, 1 Kit using the Simon Says Stamp June 2018 Card Kit. Hope you like what I came up with:

Here are some close-ups of the finished cards:

6

I really love this design, but I love almost any two-tone design. Somehow this card feels both masculine and feminine to me at the same time.

6 inside

I really love the look of partial stamping with that large floral spray. I would totally use this panel on the front of a card too.

6 close7

I mentioned it yesterday but I’ll say it again – these papers are lovely…pardon the paperlovely pun 🙂

7 inside

and again, the mix of the outline and solid stamps together makes for some great sentiments.

7 close8

I decided to do some more no-line coloring today. This was my first time using gray background paper and stamping with the hippo ink worked really great.

8 inside

The thanks stamp was a little small but combining it with that floral helps to balance out all the white space.

8 close9

These tulle shakers are so much fun and since there’s no foam tape, much easier to mail!

9 inside

Since the shaker is so busy I kept the inside simple with just the sentiment and extra stripe of that pretty purple sky.

9 close10

I kept this last card fairly simple though I added a lot of stamping – I really loved this paper but wasn’t quite sure what to do with it so I thought stamping with a colored ink would be nice. Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide did the trick.

10 inside

I finished this off with my favorite sentiment, an extra stripe of the patterned paper, and then finally a strip of some MFT Pure Plum card stock.

10 close

Thanks so much for stopping by today, hope I was able to give you some inspiration! xoxo, Sarah

10 Cards | 1 Kit – SSS June Card Kit (Part 1 of 2)

Hi There,

Hope your week is going well. Today I’m sharing part 1 of my 10 Cards, 1 Kit using the Simon Says Stamp June Card Kit. All I can say is GORGEOUS – that floral stamp is to die for and some of those papers too. Here is what I came up with:

Here are some close-ups of the final cards:

1

Love these watercolor panels – they make such sweet, simple, easy cards.

1 inside

I am in LOVE with this stamp set – the mix of sizes and solids and outlines make for lots of choices and you can really make loads of different cards with them.

1 close2

Ok this may be my most favorite card of the year so far. Probably because I’m obsessed with Paris and the only thing this scene is missing is the Eiffel Tower in the background. I had so much fun making this tulle shaker card – I see lots more of them in my future.

2 inside

I kept the inside simple with just a piece of light pink washi which matched the lighter tones on the front picture.

2 close3

Beautiful floral piece – this makes making cards so easy, stamp it, color it and you’re done. I have been really stretched on time lately, but when things settle down I’m going to emboss and watercolor with this.

3 inside

Odd sized cards are so much fun right? I need to make more of them. I may go back and add a leaf to this stem, it feels like it needs a little something more.

3 close

Prismacolor: 989, 912, 109, 1012, 916, 942, 928, 929, 994, 926, 923, 925, 934, 995, 1009

4

So simple, but one of my favorites. This patterned paper pack was so lovely.

4 inside

What do you think of the double stripe keeping the pattern going? I think it looks really classy and it would look good to do a whole card front like that too!

4 close5

I was dying for some feathers to add to this for some texture. I keep meaning to pick up some boa’s so I can tear them apart but didn’t have any on hand so I went with the next best thing…stitching. I think it gives it that little extra pop it needed.

5 inside

I did a bit of stamp surgery to get these last two sentiments to work – well worth all the little piecing. (Prismacolor: 995)

5 close

Thanks so much for stopping by – hope I was able to give you some inspiration to use with your kit! xoxo, Sarah

10 Cards, 1 Kit |My Monthly Hero April (Part 1 of 2) + Giveaway Winner!!

Hi-ya! Hope your week has started off well 🙂

Gosh it seems so strange not to have spoken with you in two weeks! For those of you who only read the blog…my allergies went nutso week before last and I was down on the couch for most of it so I’m a bit behind. I worked on these cards a little each night of last week and am finally finished with the editing so here you go:

And here are some close-ups:

1

I’m so happy with how this card came out – super simple and super sweet.

1 inside

This is the only time I use those flourishes but I think they worked as great accents.

1 close

That ribbon is so lovely.

2

Can you tell I loved that frame die? I wanted to create a row of dancers like I’ve seen in some of the traditional dances. This is busier than my usual cards but I like the multi-layered look.

2 inside

Again, I don’t know why this is mouse themed, but I think she is totally adorable.

2 close

Prismacolors: 1008, 1009, 992, 105, 1002, 1032, 912, 109, 1068, 1072, 941, 1060, 927, 922, 928, 912, 1002, 1009

3

This guy is so cute – in the video you can really see him bounce around as if someone has just taken a crack at him.

3 inside

The scattered candy takes up a fair amount of room so there’s not as much space to write, but I think it’s worth the trade-off.

3 close

I’m not sure if it was the movement or the gold glitter but my camera was going crazy trying to take photos of this. It’s a bit blurry in places but it’s the best of about 20 photos.

4

I love the texture this fringe creates – I’m so glad I picked this up as an additional die.

4 inside

I forgot to write down the colors for this but I used mostly the same colors as in other scenes and I have listed those.  (Can you tell my head has been full?)

4 close

Again that ribbon – so beautiful!

5

Can’t you just hear that snake hissing?

5 inside

I love when I can make a little cluster of things inside the card too. I’m not loving the black ink though, if I did this again I would do everything in the green.

5 close

Prismacolors: 109, 1097, 912, 1005, 989, 913, 1012, 1098, 949, 916, 913, 994, 995, 922, 992

Thanks for stopping by today – let me know in the comments below which card was your favorite! xoxo, Sarah
