Hello there,
Hope you’ve all had a great weekend! Mine was cards, cards, cards – I completed the planning, filming, editing, voiceover (and now blog post) all in one weekend which I think is a record for me! I was just having so much fun I didn’t want to stop. Lucky for me I don’t have to because my SSS July kit came in the mail yesterday, lol. I think I’ll wait until tomorrow to start devouring that one.
As you know I’ve been eyeing the Love From Lizi Kits for quite some time now and was thrilled when they invited me to be a guest designer this month. I really enjoyed using all the stuff in the kit and there is probably enough leftover to make 10 more cards. Here is the video of what I came up with:
Here are some stills of the finished cards:
The sand was such a great addition to the embellishment bag – it gave some fantastic texture to this scene. Isn’t that frog adorable?
Ain’t that the truth?!? I am a beach girl and very much looking forward to my trip to Myrtle Beach this October!
This card is my favorite. I LOVE that background stamp and was really pleased with how the coloring turned out.
I love a punny sentiment.
Zig Colors: 69, 21; 75, 72, 64; 94, 900, 901; 42, 49
So cute! I love those little guys and the dimension of the decoupage is fantastic. I added the little wooden ship wheel under the puppy’s paws to make it look like he is steering.
I used Lawn Fawn’s Milo’s ABC’s to spell out “you and me” so the full sentiment reads “By the sea, you and me.” I thought the font matched the thinner portion of the sentiment on the front really well.
The photos don’t do this paper justice – it’s super sparkly and just gorgeous. I had originally planned to have 3 cones with the sentiment, but that background paper was so busy I decided on adding just one. I added some white cardstock behind that pink ice cream die cut to make it a strawberry/vanilla swirl.
I used an old paper pumpkin stamp set to add this “Happy Birthday” sentiment and then added in some slots for a gift card.
I was so disappointed when I saw the sand had shifted in front of those seashells. I thought I had figured it out!! Stay tuned, I’m going to sit down with this again and see if I can come up with a fix for you.
Again, I love that punny sentiment and how about that gorgeous starfish paper? It was my favorite of the kit!
This guy is too fun. I thought that frog was just adorable so I used him on quite a few cards. Here I’ve got him floating in the pool using a mini wobbler.
Yes, indeed it is.
This is my second favorite card of the kit. It took quite a bit of time to make but it was well worth it to have those doors open to reveal that lounging frog!
Since the front was so detailed, I kept the inside super simple.
This card will probably go to my niece – she loves the beach just as much as I do and will love all those little guys chilling in their beach chairs.
Love that cat sleeping along the border there.
This is a tie with the earlier stamped background card as my favorite. I love the subtle stamping for the beach and couldn’t be happier with how my ‘waves’ turned out.
Since I used the Lawn Fawn Mermaid ink to dye the texture paste, I decided to continue that color on the inside.
Again with the frogs – just too cute. I will probably send this to my nephew, I think He’ll get a kick out of them.
Love that little guy splashing down in the inner-tube.
This kit is already sold out, but you can still get the decoupage pages and a few of the other items on the Love From Lizzie website. I’ve linked what is available for you below.
As always, thanks for stopping by to check out my cards. Let me know which was your favorite in the comments!
