3 Cards | Spellbinders October Large Die Kit

Hello there,

Today I’m sharing 3 cards I created using the Spellbinders October Large Die Kit. This truck die is absolutely fantastic – it’s the reason I checked out the kits in the first place and I’m so glad I saw that sneak peek because I’m loving all of these kits so far. The really great part about this large die kit in particular, is how versatile it is – you can use this die set all year round! Here is the video of what I came up with:

Here are some photos of the finished cards:

This card is my favorite. I love the blue truck with the orange pumpkins, it’s so perfectly Fall.

1 inside

I stamped out this sentiment from the SSS Thankful Heart set using Lawn Fawn Hippo ink and brought in a little piece of the orange to finish up the sentiment.

1 close

Cardstock Colors: Nightshift Blue, Cement Gray, Steel Gray, Red Hot, Jelly Bean Green, Tandy Orange, Orange Fizz

As much as I love the truck die, I think the snow is what really makes the picture. I’m still thinking about adding some puffy dots of that marvy snow pen in the “sky” in addition to the sequins I added.

2 inside

This Mama Elephant Jingle Greetings stamp set is wonderful – you’ll see me use it lots more during the coming Christmas Series.

2 close

Cardstock Colors: Wild Cherry, Cement Gray, Steel Gray, Red Hot, Field Day, Chocolate Brown

I created this card using the sample that came with the die set (love that they include this!). I just made a few changes and I used some of the pattern paper that came in the October card kit.

3 inside

I used SSS Birthday Bits stamp set for the sentiments on this card. I love this font and go back to it time and time again when I’m creating birthday cards. It embosses wonderfully too!

3 close

Cardstock Colors: Bubblegum, Cement Gray, Steel Gray, Red Hot, Smooth White

all 3

Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my cards. xoxo, Sarah

10 Cards 1 Kit

10 Cards | 1 Kit – Love From Lizi July 2018 Card Kit

Hello there,

Hope you’ve all had a great weekend! Mine was cards, cards, cards – I completed the planning, filming, editing, voiceover (and now blog post) all in one weekend which I think is a record for me! I was just having so much fun I didn’t want to stop. Lucky for me I don’t have to because my SSS July kit came in the mail yesterday, lol. I think I’ll wait until tomorrow to start devouring that one.

As you know I’ve been eyeing the Love From Lizi Kits for quite some time now and was thrilled when they invited me to be a guest designer this month. I really enjoyed using all the stuff in the kit and there is probably enough leftover to make 10 more cards. Here is the video of what I came up with:

Here are some stills of the finished cards:

The sand was such a great addition to the embellishment bag – it gave some fantastic texture to this scene. Isn’t that frog adorable?

1 inside

Ain’t that the truth?!? I am a beach girl and very much looking forward to my trip to Myrtle Beach this October!

1 close2

This card is my favorite. I LOVE that background stamp and was really pleased with how the coloring turned out.

2 inside

I love a punny sentiment.

2 close

Zig Colors: 69, 21; 75, 72, 64; 94, 900, 901; 42, 49

So cute! I love those little guys and the dimension of the decoupage is fantastic. I added the little wooden ship wheel under the puppy’s paws to make it look like he is steering.

3 inside

I used Lawn Fawn’s Milo’s ABC’s to spell out “you and me” so the full sentiment reads “By the sea, you and me.” I thought the font matched the thinner portion of the sentiment on the front really well.

3 close4

The photos don’t do this paper justice – it’s super sparkly and just gorgeous. I had originally planned to have 3 cones with the sentiment, but that background paper was so busy I decided on adding just one. I added some white cardstock behind that pink ice cream die cut to make it a strawberry/vanilla swirl.

4 inside

I used an old paper pumpkin stamp set to add this “Happy Birthday” sentiment and then added in some slots for a gift card.

4 close5

I was so disappointed when I saw the sand had shifted in front of those seashells. I thought I had figured it out!! Stay tuned, I’m going to sit down with this again and see if I can come up with a fix for you.

5 inside

Again, I love that punny sentiment and how about that gorgeous starfish paper? It was my favorite of the kit!

5 close6

This guy is too fun. I thought that frog was just adorable so I used him on quite a few cards. Here I’ve got him floating in the pool using a mini wobbler.

6 inside

Yes, indeed it is.

6 close7

This is my second favorite card of the kit. It took quite a bit of time to make but it was well worth it to have those doors open to reveal that lounging frog!

7 inside

Since the front was so detailed, I kept the inside super simple.

7 close8

This card will probably go to my niece – she loves the beach just as much as I do and will love all those little guys chilling in their beach chairs.

8 inside

Love that cat sleeping along the border there.

8 close9

This is a tie with the earlier stamped background card as my favorite. I love the subtle stamping for the beach and couldn’t be happier with how my ‘waves’ turned out.

9 inside

Since I used the Lawn Fawn Mermaid ink to dye the texture paste, I decided to continue that color on the inside.

9 close10

Again with the frogs – just too cute. I will probably send this to my nephew, I think He’ll get a kick out of them.

10 inside

Love that little guy splashing down in the inner-tube.

10 close

This kit is already sold out, but you can still get the decoupage pages and a few of the other items on the Love From Lizzie website. I’ve linked what is available for you below.

As always, thanks for stopping by to check out my cards. Let me know which was your favorite in the comments!

10 Cards | 1 Kit – SSS June Card Kit (Part 2 of 2)

I’m back today with part two of my 10 Cards, 1 Kit using the Simon Says Stamp June 2018 Card Kit. Hope you like what I came up with:

Here are some close-ups of the finished cards:

I really love this design, but I love almost any two-tone design. Somehow this card feels both masculine and feminine to me at the same time.

6 inside

I really love the look of partial stamping with that large floral spray. I would totally use this panel on the front of a card too.

6 close7

I mentioned it yesterday but I’ll say it again – these papers are lovely…pardon the paperlovely pun 🙂

7 inside

and again, the mix of the outline and solid stamps together makes for some great sentiments.

7 close8

I decided to do some more no-line coloring today. This was my first time using gray background paper and stamping with the hippo ink worked really great.

8 inside

The thanks stamp was a little small but combining it with that floral helps to balance out all the white space.

8 close9

These tulle shakers are so much fun and since there’s no foam tape, much easier to mail!

9 inside

Since the shaker is so busy I kept the inside simple with just the sentiment and extra stripe of that pretty purple sky.

9 close10

I kept this last card fairly simple though I added a lot of stamping – I really loved this paper but wasn’t quite sure what to do with it so I thought stamping with a colored ink would be nice. Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide did the trick.

10 inside

I finished this off with my favorite sentiment, an extra stripe of the patterned paper, and then finally a strip of some MFT Pure Plum card stock.

10 close

Thanks so much for stopping by today, hope I was able to give you some inspiration! xoxo, Sarah

10 Cards | 1 Kit – SSS June Card Kit (Part 1 of 2)

Hi There,

Hope your week is going well. Today I’m sharing part 1 of my 10 Cards, 1 Kit using the Simon Says Stamp June Card Kit. All I can say is GORGEOUS – that floral stamp is to die for and some of those papers too. Here is what I came up with:

Here are some close-ups of the final cards:

Love these watercolor panels – they make such sweet, simple, easy cards.

1 inside

I am in LOVE with this stamp set – the mix of sizes and solids and outlines make for lots of choices and you can really make loads of different cards with them.

1 close2

Ok this may be my most favorite card of the year so far. Probably because I’m obsessed with Paris and the only thing this scene is missing is the Eiffel Tower in the background. I had so much fun making this tulle shaker card – I see lots more of them in my future.

2 inside

I kept the inside simple with just a piece of light pink washi which matched the lighter tones on the front picture.

2 close3

Beautiful floral piece – this makes making cards so easy, stamp it, color it and you’re done. I have been really stretched on time lately, but when things settle down I’m going to emboss and watercolor with this.

3 inside

Odd sized cards are so much fun right? I need to make more of them. I may go back and add a leaf to this stem, it feels like it needs a little something more.

3 close

Prismacolor: 989, 912, 109, 1012, 916, 942, 928, 929, 994, 926, 923, 925, 934, 995, 1009

So simple, but one of my favorites. This patterned paper pack was so lovely.

4 inside

What do you think of the double stripe keeping the pattern going? I think it looks really classy and it would look good to do a whole card front like that too!

4 close5

I was dying for some feathers to add to this for some texture. I keep meaning to pick up some boa’s so I can tear them apart but didn’t have any on hand so I went with the next best thing…stitching. I think it gives it that little extra pop it needed.

5 inside

I did a bit of stamp surgery to get these last two sentiments to work – well worth all the little piecing. (Prismacolor: 995)

Thanks so much for stopping by – hope I was able to give you some inspiration to use with your kit! xoxo, Sarah

10 Cards, 1 Kit |My Monthly Hero April (Part 2 of 2)

Hello There!

I’m back today with Part 2 of the April My Monthly Hero Kit. Hope you like what I came up with:

Here are some close-ups for you:

This card was one of my favorites – I love the look of colored pencils on that Neenah desert storm cardstock.

6 inside

MFT’s Poppy card stock is one of my favorite colors – it’s so vibrant and such a beautiful orangey-red color.

6 close

Cactus: 912, 109

Spikey Cactus: 989, 912, 1097

Snake: 911, 912, 942, 922, 992, 994, 941, 940, 994, 1092, 922

Bird and Donkey: 912, 916, 922, 992, 994

Cake: 916, 994, 1013, 289

This didn’t turn out exactly like I wanted, but you know you have to try things and just see what happens sometimes. I do think maybe I should have tried Bristol paper for the background, I used Neenah and maybe switching that out might make a difference.

7 close

The fiesta red ink that came in the kit is a really pretty pinkish red color.

7 inside

Prismacolors: 922, 924, 912, 911

OH my, the layers! I was really happy with how this worked out. That banner die is super pretty, I’m so glad I added it on to my order. I think this would be nice for a quinceanera.

8 inside

That coral distress ink matched the darker pink paper I used for the die cuts almost perfectly.

8 close

Such pretty detail – I think it would be fun to try stitching through the edges of the banner too.

Somewhat simple, but really fun I think. I love how it looks like the snake is playing the guitar too. I was singing the Bailemos song in my head the entire time I was making this card (and it’s still stuck in my head now).

9 inside

That dancing mouse is by far my favorite from the stamp set.

9 close

Mouse: 943, 1013, 923, 940

Guitar: 943, 945, 922

Snake: 911, 912, 942, 922, 992, 994, 941, 940, 994, 1092, 922

And now we’ve got the whole gang together for a big party. I created the background using the same distress oxide inks I used in yesterday’s post.

10 inside

I thought I’d echo the purple from the mouse’s outfit with purple ink on the inside here and I think it looks especially nice next to the green border too.

10 close

All Prismacolors for this last scene are exactly the same as those listed individually above.

As always, thanks for stopping by – let me know which card was your favorite in the comments below. xoxo, Sarah

10 Cards | 1 Kit – Stamptember Card Kit

It feels like forever since I’ve talked with you, sorry for the long absence – I had a craft show last Saturday and was working on making stock for it. Anywho I’m back now and sharing with you the part 1 of the cards I made using the Simon Says Stamp – Stamptember Card Kit.

Here are some close ups of the cards:

1 front

That candy cut out ephemera is super cute…

1 inside

and the cut-apart sentiments made finishing off the inside of the cards super simple.

1 close up

Super fun, gorgeous colors!

2 front

I thought this card was really fun, I really liked creating this scene and the holographic boarder gives it that perfect extra something.

2 inside

2 close up

I almost forgot about them, but adding those clouds was the perfect final touch.

3 front

These lawn fawn scalloped borders are becoming one of my new favorites and layering them can add a really detailed look to a super simple card.

3 inside3 close up

I do love my dimension!

4 front

I was so excited when I realized the stickers were the same size as the printed paper. This card really just created itself. I LOOOVE the shaker bubbles, they are super simple and add so much to the design.

4 inside

A single line of bears completes the design.

5 front

Masking is always a super fun way to create a scene, I love pealing away the masks and seeing the design come to life.

5 close up

I can’t find that Martha Stewart confetti for sale anywhere – I’m going to be so sad when I eventually run out of it!

Thanks for stopping by to check out my cards – I’ve got part 2 coming up shortly.

xoxo, Sarah
