Hello There!
I’m back today with Part 2 of the April My Monthly Hero Kit. Hope you like what I came up with:
Here are some close-ups for you:
This card was one of my favorites – I love the look of colored pencils on that Neenah desert storm cardstock.
MFT’s Poppy card stock is one of my favorite colors – it’s so vibrant and such a beautiful orangey-red color.
Prismacolors:
Cactus: 912, 109
Spikey Cactus: 989, 912, 1097
Snake: 911, 912, 942, 922, 992, 994, 941, 940, 994, 1092, 922
Bird and Donkey: 912, 916, 922, 992, 994
Cake: 916, 994, 1013, 289
This didn’t turn out exactly like I wanted, but you know you have to try things and just see what happens sometimes. I do think maybe I should have tried Bristol paper for the background, I used Neenah and maybe switching that out might make a difference.
The fiesta red ink that came in the kit is a really pretty pinkish red color.
Prismacolors: 922, 924, 912, 911
OH my, the layers! I was really happy with how this worked out. That banner die is super pretty, I’m so glad I added it on to my order. I think this would be nice for a quinceanera.
That coral distress ink matched the darker pink paper I used for the die cuts almost perfectly.
Such pretty detail – I think it would be fun to try stitching through the edges of the banner too.
Somewhat simple, but really fun I think. I love how it looks like the snake is playing the guitar too. I was singing the Bailemos song in my head the entire time I was making this card (and it’s still stuck in my head now).
That dancing mouse is by far my favorite from the stamp set.
Prismacolors:
Mouse: 943, 1013, 923, 940
Guitar: 943, 945, 922
Snake: 911, 912, 942, 922, 992, 994, 941, 940, 994, 1092, 922
And now we’ve got the whole gang together for a big party. I created the background using the same distress oxide inks I used in yesterday’s post.
I thought I’d echo the purple from the mouse’s outfit with purple ink on the inside here and I think it looks especially nice next to the green border too.
All Prismacolors for this last scene are exactly the same as those listed individually above.
As always, thanks for stopping by – let me know which card was your favorite in the comments below. xoxo, Sarah
