10 Cards | 1 Kit – Spellbinders September 2019 Card Kit (Part 1 of 2)

Happy SaturYAY!

Hope you’re all having a great weekend – it’s rainy here today, perfect weather to stay in and create! Today I’m finally working with the Spellbinders September Card Kit (October’s is also sitting on my desk – yikes, I’m behind). This kit was full of gorgeousness I loved the watercolor flowers and leaves and those enamel dots are to die for – definitely getting more of those for my stash! Here is the video for the first five cards:

Here are some close-ups of the finished cards:

These quote boards are really cute, but WOW did that take a long time to create! On the plus side though it really does make the whole card front. I’ve pulled in that bluish gray cardstock to create my front panel and then added the gold foil floral paper to go with the really warm brown of the board border. Popped up the board for some dimension and card done.

This stamp set is so pretty and versatile – I know I will use it on lots of cards to come. I’ve pulled in a little blue from the front using some Lawn Fawn Deep Sea ink and finished up with a leftover strip of that floral pattern paper.

The watercolor flowers are hands down my favorite thing about this kit – I could’ve made 10 cards with them alone. Here I’ve clustered a few together with one of the lotus flowers (also gorgeous) and a few of the chipboard stickers.

I don’t make a lot of sympathy cards but thought the front worked well for this and it’s always good to have some on hand. Finished up the panel with a small stripe of the woodgrain pattern.

Butterflies are so ubiquitous in the stamping world…I still love them though and actually used both of them on my cards this month. I love the extra dimension that the fluttered wings give. I created some additional texture using some tissue paper and then layered on my frame, the ephemera, and a few of those gorgeous gems.

I stamped my sentiment using Deep Sea ink again to pull in a bit more blue from the gems and pattern paper on the front and then finished with a few leaves in the bottom corner.

I really actually run from bugs….but these were too pretty not to use and I wanted them to really shine so I’ve simply stamped a sentiment and popped them up for some dimension.

I’ve matched the inside ink to the black from the front and then added one additional beetle popping up from the bottom.

This hello ephemera was just so pretty – I ended up using both of these on the cards as well. Here I’ve layered another strip of the pattern paper on a pink panel and added a frame with a cluster of some flowers on top. Once I had the dimension added to the flowers, I placed some glue just behind the “ell” of the hello and carefully placed it on top, finishing up then with the love sentiment and gold arrow at the top.

I’ve stamped my sentiment in black to pull in the stripes from the frame on the front and added another small stripe of that wood pattern at the bottom of my panel.

As always thanks for stopping by today – hope you enjoyed the cards and they gave you some ideas to use with your own kit. Don’t forget to stop back tomorrow for part 2!

xoxo, Sarah
