10 Cards | 1 Kit ā€“ Spellbinders November Card Kit (Part 2 of 2)

Hi There,

Happy we’re half-way there day! Although this time of year I’d be ok with the weeks going a little slower – so much to get done, sigh. I’m back today with part 2 of the Spellbinders November Card Kit. Here’s what I came up with:

and here are your close-ups:

6

I was tempted to go all out and cover this snow globe with glossy accents or acetate or half of a globe Christmas ornament but reigned myself in…less usually is more šŸ™‚

6 inside6 close7

This is my favorite card from all 10 – I love Rudolph and his Mrs.

7 inside7 close8

This was super simple and quick. I love that they include 2 of every ephemera – sometimes you love a piece so much it’s hard to choose what to use it on!

close8 inside9

What can I say…I’m feeling the pink and the red this season. I could’ve used about 50 of that cocoa mug die cut.

9 inside9 close10

Another quick and easy card. The glossy accents really make those berries pop!

Thanks so much for checking out my cards today – hope I was able to give you some holiday inspiration! xoxo, Sarah

Hello Hello…

It’s was a busy weekend for me – I traveled to PA for my nephew’s 8th birthday party – LEGO EVERYTHING!! I did make a birthday card for him but as it’s not Christmas themed I’ll save it for a later date. So now I’m getting back into the swing of things and have Part 1 of the Spellbinders November, Deer Santa Kit for you. LOVE this kit, love the die set, love the ephemera, love the washi, love love love.

Here are the first 5 cards I came up with:

Here are some close-ups of the finished cards:

Such cuties – if only I could get my Charlie cat to wear a Santa hat!

I love this Holiday cheer sentiment – the script is gorgeous and super fun mixed with the large block font. It has a great hand done look.

This deer is so cute – I fell in love instantly.

3 Cards, 1 Treat Box | Spellbinders November Large Die Kit

Hi-ya,

Today I’ve got some cards and a treat box to share with you that I made using the Spellbinders November Large Die Kit. I’m absolutely loving these kits – so much fun and an amazing way to build my die stash. I really can’t say enough about how great of a deal I think this is, the amount of items you get for the price is astounding. Here is the video of what I came up with:

Here are some still shots of the finished cards and box:

1

Simple and clean – my favorite kind of cards. I LOVE that warm wishes sentiment, it’s such a pretty script.

1 inside

Again I’m using the Mama Elephant Merry Greetings and Jingle Greetings stamp sets.

1 close2

This card is my favorite – I love the shape of those tags, they make such a pretty pattern.

2 inside

I used some green ink for the sentiment to echo the green from the front and finished off this inside panel with a thin stripe of the pink paper.

2 close3

What a fun shaker to make! I don’t have a lot of dies that have these solid shapes and the inserts to match, so it’s new to me to use the insert and get so much detail on a cut-out window.

3 inside

You’re going to see these sentiment stamp sets a lot this season!

3 closetree box

These boxes are really cute and easy to put together – I hope my instructions were at least a little helpful.

Here you can see the details of how I cut out off/around that outside red border.

tree box back

These would make a great advent calendar and I’m planning to make some as some favor boxes for each place setting at our family Christmas dinner this year.

The detail of all those tiny dots around the border is really pretty. If any get stuck, you can use a needle tip to poke them out.

As always thanks for stopping by to check out my work – I hope I was able to give you some inspiration for your own holiday merry making! xoxo, Sarah

3 Cards | Spellbinders October Large Die Kit

Hello there,

Today I’m sharing 3 cards I created using the Spellbinders October Large Die Kit. This truck die is absolutely fantastic – it’s the reason I checked out the kits in the first place and I’m so glad I saw that sneak peek because I’m loving all of these kits so far. The really great part about this large die kit in particular, is how versatile it is – you can use this die set all year round! Here is the video of what I came up with:

Here are some photos of the finished cards:

1

This card is my favorite. I love the blue truck with the orange pumpkins, it’s so perfectly Fall.

1 inside

I stamped out this sentiment from the SSS Thankful Heart set using Lawn Fawn Hippo ink and brought in a little piece of the orange to finish up the sentiment.

1 close

Cardstock Colors: Nightshift Blue, Cement Gray, Steel Gray, Red Hot, Jelly Bean Green, Tandy Orange, Orange Fizz

2

As much as I love the truck die, I think the snow is what really makes the picture. I’m still thinking about adding some puffy dots of that marvy snow pen in the “sky” in addition to the sequins I added.

2 inside

This Mama Elephant Jingle Greetings stamp set is wonderful – you’ll see me use it lots more during the coming Christmas Series.

2 close

Cardstock Colors: Wild Cherry, Cement Gray, Steel Gray, Red Hot, Field Day, Chocolate Brown

3

I created this card using the sample that came with the die set (love that they include this!). I just made a few changes and I used some of the pattern paper that came in the October card kit.

3 inside

I used SSS Birthday Bits stamp set for the sentiments on this card. I love this font and go back to it time and time again when I’m creating birthday cards. It embosses wonderfully too!

3 close

Cardstock Colors: Bubblegum, Cement Gray, Steel Gray, Red Hot, Smooth White

Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my cards. xoxo, Sarah

4 Cards | Spellbinders October Small Die Kit

Hello Everyone,

I’ve been itching to get this video out and things just continued to prevent it but at last, I’m sharing my first (of many) Spellbinders videos with you. Today I’ve got 4 cards using the small die kit of the month from October. I am still amazed at the amount of dies included in this kit. Here is a look at what I came up with:

Here are some close ups of the finished cards:

1

As I mentioned in the video this was my take on the sample card instructions they provided. I love that they include this with the dies to get you started and think it turned out really cute.

1 inside

Rather than pull out my stamps, I continued with the Tim Holtz small talk stickers for the inside sentiment.

1 close2

I knew I wanted to create a shaker as soon as I saw this die. It was a little more work since the sides of the die cut are very narrow, but well worth it when looking at the finished result.

2 inside

This SSS Thankful Heart stamp set is so beautiful – the lettering is so classy and it really could carry a card all by itself.

2 close3

I trimmed the smaller sentiment out of the wishbone so I could use it by itself and then worked it in around the Happy Thanksgiving sentiment. Remember stamps and dies are just a jumping off point – don’t be afraid to change them to make them work for what you need.

3 inside

Apple of my Eye is another great SSS stamp set – it’s super fun and cute.

3 close4

I let this gorgeous paper shine and just trimmed it out and added a popped up wishbone on top. I did trim out the sentiment from a second gray wishbone and add that on top of this white one. Again, make your stamps and dies work for you!

4 inside

Such a pretty sentiment. I’ll have a full video using this stamp set for you very soon!

Thanks for stopping by today – I’ve got a few more fall cards coming up and then it’s on to the Christmas Series. xoxo, Sarah

10 Cards | 1 Kit ā€“ SSS July Card Kit (Part 3 of 3)

Hello there,

I’m back with the last part of the cards I created using Simon Says Stamp July 2018 Card Kit. These cards will focus on the pattern papers included in the kit. Here is what I came up with:

Here are some close-up photos for you:

11

I liked this pattern paper the best out of the bunch. I know I complained about them a bit, but I did enjoy the idea of the overhead shots that some of them had.

11 inside

This stamp perplexed me a bit at first and I didn’t think I’d use it, but it really worked perfectly for beach and pool themed cards.

11 close12

Again, I liked the overhead shot so I did this card similar to the first one and just let the paper shine.

12 inside

I saved that extra strip from the first card and added a mini beach scene to the inside of this one.

12 close13

Adding those sequins as scales on the fish was one of the first ideas I came up with for this kit and I’m really pleased with how it worked out. It really gives a lot of shine to the card.

13 inside

I went to my Cricut and used it to write out this fishy inside sentiment, then added a few more stamped fish to finish it off. As I mention in the video, it takes a little longer but there are some great ABC stamp sets out there that you can use to write out specific sentiments for your card. Lawn Fawn’s Milo’s ABCs is my favorite.

13 close14

I again used my Cricut to cut out this drink and then turned it into a shaker (which moves but doesn’t really shake). It gave me the look I was going for though. If you don’t have a Cricut, there is a great martini shaker die and stamp set from MFT that would give you a similar look.

14 inside

I kept the inside super simple since the front was so detailed and finished it off with some washi and a leftover cardstock strip from one of my previous cards.

14 close15

For this last card, I used this pool patterned paper and another one of the cutouts as the sentiment. I used an embossing folder that mimicked a raft and added a pink bikini using one of the SSS dies from a card kit last summer.

15 inside

I again went pretty simple with the inside and just finished it off with the sunshine sentiment.

15 close

So this will finish up the cards using the July card kit and just in time because my August card kit arrived in the mail this week šŸ™‚ I’ll probably be a little later with that kit because of my moving but I’ll get it out to you as soon as I can and in the meantime I’ve got a few happy mail videos that I’ve already recorded and I’ll post those as soon as I can get the voiceovers done. Thanks, as always, for stopping by. xoxo, Sarah

10 Cards | 1 Kit ā€“ SSS July Card Kit (Part 2 of 3)

Hello there,

Sorry I’m a bit slower in getting these videos out. I settled on my new condo on Friday and I’ve been cleaning and packing and ahh it’s so overwhelming. I can’t wait to have everything done and be fully moved in but that won’t be until the middle of next month. It doesn’t help that my internet is incredibly slow right now for some reason and it’s taking over a day to upload to YouTube!

Anywho…for this set of cards I focused on using the stickers that were included and here is what I came up with:

Here are some close-ups of the finished cards:

6

I wasn’t sure what to do with these mini stickers and then when I saw that “you made my day” sentiment I thought, oh a calendar. I used my Cricut to create the grid, write in the numbers and a few events, and then cut a thin red circle to highlight one of the days.

6 inside

Sweet and simple. I think this would be great to use as a thank you card for a birthday or special trip you went on.

6 close7

Do you ever like the inside of your cards better than the outside? This happens to me every so often, so I just cut the halves apart and use the inside as a front panel. I really loved those rainbow stickers.

7 inside

I also really loved the script sentiments in the stickers – I could use a whole sticker pack of just those.

7 close8

I’m not sure about the background on this one. I liked the wooden panel paper but the colors were a bit crazy. I think it works, but it’s just a bit busier than what I usually do. Love the cacti stickers though šŸ™‚

8 inside

I can’t take credit for the inside sentiment – I found it on the internet, but I think it’s the perfect inside finish to the stuck on you stamp.

8 close9

I really love this card. It sort of came together by accident and once I had the idea, I had to do it.Ā  I really love the upside down hearts for the seeds too.

9 inside

I added these watermelon stickers and a strip of the lime green to finish off the inside. I think I will write inside with my white gel pen and that will allow the white outline on the watermelon stickers to really pop.

9 close10

Aren’t those butterflies gorgeous?!? This card really speaks for itself. I love how the colors of the butterflies match the colors in the sentiment letters perfectly.

10 inside

And you know how happy I was to find this matching sentiment for the inside!

10 close

As always…thanks so much for stopping by to check out my cards. I hope I was able to give you some inspiration on using the sticker portion of this month’s card kit.

xoxo, Sarah
