10 Cards | 1 Kit – SSS July 2019 Card Kit (Part 1 of 2)

Hi There,

I’m super excited to share my 10c1k using the July SSS card kit with you – I haven’t been this excited about one of their kits in a while – LOVED IT. If you haven’t picked yours up yet they are offering 15% off sitewide this weekend – use code HPY4TH.

The bees are super cute and easy to color and the patterned paper is so much fun. I was also really looking forward to trying out the new glue sponge. I’m going to hold my final decision on that for now as I don’t love sticky fingers but it’s always nice to try something new. Here is what I came up with for the first 5 cards:

Here are some close ups of the finished cards:

It’s not how I originally planned it, but I really like how this turned out. The yellow is so bright and cheery. I added some of the honeycomb peeking out from underneath the folds and popped up the bees so they’re “flying” around the hive.

This is my favorite sentiment from the set – you can use it for lots of different types of cards. I also love the mix of fonts.

All bees are colored with Copics: Y35, N4, BG10

This blue paper is so gorgeous. I stamped out the bees and sentiment with Lawn Fawn Minty Fresh and popped the bees up with some mini wobblers.

For the inside, I trimmed out a line of hexagons from the leftover paper.

This card took FOREVER! I really like how it turned out though (aside from the glue smudges). Sorry for the glare, I was trying to get you all the texture and it was just impossible without the extra light.

I colored in the BEE with the same copic I used on the wings for a little pop of color on the inside.

I’m sure this heart stamp was meant for the mommy to bee sentiment, but I think it works ok for the love bees too.

I just loved all the punny sentiments included with this set!

OK…This card is my favorite of the bunch, I absolutely love how it came out. I definitely wasn’t sure for a few moments as it was coming together, but once I tucked in the bees it just worked. I also love the floral pattern paper peeking out beneath the strings.

Kept things really simple for the inside here with just a light stamp of the honeycomb pieces.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you get a chance to BEE creative this weekend 🙂 xoxo, Sarah
