10 Cards | 1 Kit โ€“ SSS January 2019 Card Kit (Part 1 of 2)

I’ve been crafting all weekend and Part 1 of the SSS January 2019 Card Kit is now ready for you.ย  A bit earlier than I was expecting to be done, but I wanted to finish up with my winter cards before starting on Valentine’s Day projects so, yay! I had a lot of fun with this kit and made 2 interactive slider cards which are some of my favorites ๐Ÿ™‚ Here is what I came up with:

Here are some close-ups of the finished cards:

These little characters are so cute – I love that little skating penguin!

The sentiments in this kit are really wonderful too. I like the font a lot and well, you know how much I love a good pun ๐Ÿ™‚

This is a simple one, but I feel like those are the kinds of cards I need the most of. I let this penguin paper shine and set off the sentiment using a label die.

Such a cute little phrase – and that fox is adorable. I wish we had a stamp of him too!

I have so much fun coloring in images like this. There’s something about working with a white pencil (or in my case 10% gray) and watching things come to life on the paper.

Is anyone not singing Frozen while stamping with this? If so you’re lucky – my niece and nephew have burned those songs into my brain.

This was my favorite pattern paper in the kit.ย Shakers are always fun to make and a great way to get 2 cards out of one pattern paper that you love.

Busy outside…simple inside.

Even with the slider cards (and those are so much fun), this is my favorite card of all. I love that dark blue background embossed with the snowflakes and the pop of colors on the scarves etc. of the snowmen. There’s just something about this card that calls to me.

It’s always hard for me to get pictures of this blue card base (they take on this crazy yellow tone) so I zoomed in on the white background here. You can see that I mimicked the snowflakes on the outside, but flipped them to the bottom here to balance things out a bit.

10 Cards | 1 Kit โ€“ Spellbinders December Card Kit (Part 2 of 2)

Happy Friday!! Hope you’ve got lots of fun plans this weekend – I’ve got a trip to Tuesday Morning on the books for tomorrow morning (if it’s not snowing) but other than that I’ll be working on the Simon Says Stamp January card kit and then some Valentine’s day projects for you ๐Ÿ™‚ For today, I’m sharing part 2 of my 10 cards, 1 kit from the Spellbinders December kit. Here’s the rest of what I came up with:

Here are some close-ups of the finished cards:

I just love a clean and simple card – though they are sometimes the hardest for me to make as I also like to add lots of things!

6 inside

I kept the inside of most of these cards simple so they could be used now instead of having to wait for next Christmas.

6 close7

I love the look of clustered ephemera and these pieces lent themselves to it really well. What do you think of the tag with no ribbon? I thought about adding some but was worried it would be too much.

7 inside

Again, I can’t get enough of that font!

7 close8

This is my favorite card of the whole bunch. I love the reverse die cut of the snowflakes and all the layers. That cityscape was my favorite of the ephemera pieces – it looks just like the row of buildings on my street!

8 inside

Plain and simple – you can use this anytime (well, as long as the snow is appropriate).

8 close9

I’ll be totally honest…this is my least favorite, I love that pink paper but it needs something more and I just can’t figure out what. Maybe a sentiment?

9 inside

Again I left things simple so I can use it any time.

9 close10

And I’m finishing up here with one last college. Every time I see a squirrel, I automatically do that Doug dog “squirrel” voice from Disney’s Up, lol. My cat knows to come running when he hears it and always jumps to the window to see what’s going on. He’s our neighborhood watch and nothing gets past his swishing tail!

10 inside

Just a few snowflakes and some glitter to brighten up the inside with plenty of room to write a note.

Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my cards. xoxo, Sarah

10 Cards | 1 Kit โ€“ SSS December Card Kit (Part 1 of 2)

Hello There,

My SSS kit finally arrived last week! I was stalking my mailman again ๐Ÿ™‚ So happy to have this in my hands and get crafting. As we’re all so busy this time of year, I’m going jump right in…here is what I came up with for the first 5 cards:

Here are your close-ups:

This little fawn is so cute – I love his little white spots and tail! Every time I get some of these watercolor papers I think to myself I need to buy a pack – maybe this time I will!

1 inside

That red was tough to match – it’s such a nice vintag-y hue.

1 close2

Oh my, I love that marvy snow pen! Don’t you just want to reach out and touch that puffy goodness?

2 inside

I’m loving this Christmas cheer sentiment – I can already tell it’s going to make it into the Christmas rotation every year.

2 close3

Chibi cards are so much fun to make – I hope my explanation was clear. They might look a little intimidating but once you’ve made one or two it gets much easier.

3 inside

I’m loving that red washi tape this year – I think it’s made it into almost every video!

3 close4

That candy cane die is really cute – you could trim it down to just a single candy cane too if you wanted.

4 inside

I felt like this needed a little more black to balance all the red on the front, so I sprinkled around some snowflakes.

4 close5

I’m finishing up today with Santa. This is such a cute image and was really fun to color. I, of course, added some marvy snow pen to give his hat a little fluff.

5 inside

And the inside needed a little green so I added the tree along with the sentiment.
