December Daily 2019 | Part 4: Finishing the last hinge and decorating the cover – Crate Paper Snowflake

Hi-ya!

Today we are finishing up my December Daily. I’ll add the pages to the final hinge and then decorate up the cover. I hope you are enjoying this project as much as I am, I haven’t been this excited about something in a while and can see myself making lots more of these type of books. (Though they are crazy time-consuming.) Let’s get things finished up:

Here are your close-ups and measurements:

2829

The yellow flap is cut to 5.5 x 3.5, score at 3.

30

The vellum is cut to 7 x 5.5, score at 5; the white panel is cut at 4.5 x 6.5.

31

The pink flap is cut at 5.5 x 3.5, score at .5.

32

The sentiment page is cut to 5.5 x 6.75 and then scored at .5 for the hinge. Remember when you trim down a sentiment like this to leave that extra half-inch on whichever end you want the hinge, that way it will be centered once the book is put together.

I’m going to wait to see how I want to finish up day 31. Right now I’m thinking of a pocket or envelop to store any extra photos, etc that I couldn’t fit in on the previous days.

I’m so in love with that sequin trim – I thought it was the perfect accent to this paper collection. I’ve placed the trim across the middle of my cover in one solid piece and added pattern paper trimmed to 6 x 8 over both covers. Add embellishments and December Daily is done!

Thanks for hanging out with me while I put everything together – hope this inspired you to create a book of your own! xoxo, Sarah
