Hi There,
I can’t believe we’re starting week 3 of March Madness already – this month is flying by. Today I’m back with part 2 of my 10 cards, 1 Kit using the Simon Says Stamp March card kit. I had SO much fun using those circle stamps to create a bunch of different backgrounds. The two rainbow backgrounds ended up being my favorite which I’m sure comes as a shock to all of you, lol! Here’s what I came up with:
And here are your still shots:
Such yummy rainbow goodness. I created this background by starting at the bottom of the rainbow and working my way up through the colors. As I added each new color I tried to overlap a little so that the colors changed really naturally.
For the inside, I again used a rainbow of dots but kept it to the smaller solid circles. They look like confetti which I think goes really well with the front sentiment.
For this background, I kept things in the warm tones and created a diagonal design.
I really love the look of those two circles overlapping to create that line. It’s time-consuming but gives a really nice result.
This is my absolute favorite of the backgrounds. It took FOREVER but I’d do it again – I love the finished design! I used every ink color and I thought every circle until I realized I forgot to take one off the stamp set when I started, oh well.
I felt like you saw less of the yellow on the front so I thought I’d let that shine here on the inside.
Here I wanted to focus on just the cool colors. I was a bit miffed when that one blue dot messed up my sentiment, but after adding the blue stripe I think it actually looks much better than just the plain sentiment would have.
I love the way the inside turned out on this one – that little pop of circles on the top corner is really fun and leaves plenty of room to write an additional message.
This last one is a mix of the lighter rainbow colors. I really love the look of that juice box ink with the pink card panel.
When I realized I missed one of the circles as I was creating the backgrounds I wanted to be sure to add it in on one of the inside panels. those dots are really fun.
Thanks so much for stopping by today – I had a lot of fun making these cards and hope I gave you some inspiration to dig into your kit! xoxo, Sarah
