Hello There,
I’ve got my favorite, The Nightmare Before Christmas, playing in the background and just settled in with a cup of hot cocoa to get down to typing and uploading today’s video. It’s freezing in Baltimore and I’m afraid we may have skipped Fall altogether this year! I guess that means I should create more fall cards to make up for it 🙂
I got the idea for these shakers from Rachel Tallman – she is amazing, I always get inspiration from her beautiful work. She did some of these with her spring blitz this year and I’ve been wanting to give it a try since then.
Here is what I came up with:
And here are some stills:
This one is my favorite of the bunch, mostly because of that ribbon – which took forever! I’m so disappointed that I lost the video of how I attached it but I will be making more of these and will add that in next time.
Here’s a side view so you can really see the texture and dimension that ruffled ribbon created.
Love this guy! His expression is so great – I would love to have him as a trick or treater so I surrounded him with candy.
My favorite part of this is the spider web – I used some scor tape around the edges on the back (before I put on the ribbon), and then just wrapped the string around the corners a few times. Then I glued all over the back and placed that down on some Neenah paper and trimmed around the edge again. Then I slid the ribbon behind the string on the front and stuck it down.
All in all, I’m really pleased with how they came out. I used mostly items from the Halloween Kit I put together but will add links to the additional items used below. As always, thanks for stopping by. xoxo, Sarah
