Hi There,
I’m back with part 2 of my 10 Cards, 1 Kit using the Simon Says Stamp August 2018 card kit. These florals are absolutely gorgeous and I had so much fun coloring all the images. Here are the rest of the cards I created:
Here are close-ups of the finished cards:
This peony image is so beautiful and that background stamp was exactly what I needed to finish off the shabby chic look for this card.
I love the look of a watermarked stamp, I really need to remember to do that more often.
Ink: Simon Says Stamp Intense Black
Prismacolors: 912, 913, 989, 988, 1060, 1061, 1013, 928
So sweet and simple, this mason jar is lovely. I just let the image shine here on its own and added the twine bow at the top to finish off a pretty country look.
The top portion of this flower pot would look great all along the border of a card.
Ink: Simon Says Stamp Barely Beige
Prismacolors: 122, 922, 1013, 1009, 995, 994, 912, 913, 989, 988, 992, 1086, 289, 1014, 122, 923
This picket fence stamp is great to add to your scene building stash. Though it does take quite a bit of work to cut it out if you want as much detail as I do.
I kept the inside simple since the outside was so detailed a grabbed a red ink to match that poppy flower.
Ink: Memento Black Tuxedo
Copics: R17, YR07, RV66, RV63, YG45, YG25, E15, E13, E18, YR02, YR04
These watercolor cards ended up being my favorites of the bunch (along with the rainbow card from yesterday). I really like this technique of laying down the watercolor and letting it do its thing.
I run out of ideas for the inside of cards sometimes – I think this is the first time I’ve mixed the different sentiment colors and really like the way it came out.
As you may have guessed, the copics were my favorite way to color the poppy flower. Here I placed that wreath around an opening so you could see the sentiment on the inside. This would also be a great way to make a shaker card.
I finished off the inside sentiment using some cardstock to match that poppy color and placed them so you wouldn’t see them through the opening.
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics: R17, YR07, YG45, YG25
So that will finish up the cards for this kit and whew, I’m feeling at least a little bit caught up now. I’ll be working on the September kit this week and get those videos up for you soon. Hopefully before the October kit arrives. I’m also putting together a Halloween kit – more on that soon, so stay tuned! xoxo, Sarah
