10 Cards | 1 Kit

Hello Everyone,

Hope your week is starting off well! I decided to try splitting the card kit videos in two so they aren’t quite as long. It will make the blog posts shorter also since it will be half the photos 🙂 Let me know which format you like better.

Today I’m working with the Simon Says Stamp October 2017 Card kit – you  can watch the video here:

I’ll be honest…I struggled with this card kit a bit. It’s beautiful and all I wanted to do was trim that paper down to 4 x 5 1/4 and slap it on the front of the card with a sentiment, but that would be boring to watch so I tried to make some different ideas.

1 Front

I had a lot of fun playing with these die cut flowers – I laid them out so one of the polka dots created a center for them. The inside of the die cut is really cool looking too, I had planned to try to use them on a card, but didn’t end up fitting them anywhere. I have them saved though 🙂

I like layering die cuts half on/half off of dimensional areas. I think it exaggerates the dimension and I do love dimension.

1 inside

I’ve been trying to show more inside card designs, but this was the only card I ended up stamping anything in for this kit.

2 front

This shimmery rose gold paper is SOOOOO pretty. Really though, words can not describe how gorgeous it is – I just kept petting it. lol

2 card and envelope

This just ended up so soft looking, it’ll be perfect to save for Valentine’s day.

3 Front

As pink as this card kit seemed, it came with a lot of navy which worked great for some masculine cards. (I couldn’t help but add that extra strip with some rose gold on it too though.)

3 close up

I tried to get a close up of how pretty that embossing powder is, but it’s really hard to capture on film. It has a really great shimmer mixed in with the navy.

4 Close up

I kept going back to this sentiment – I don’t have any other similar stamps and really loved how encouraging this set was.

4 card and envelopw

I should mention that I used all of the papers in the kit, so I used paper from the My Minds Eye – Fancy That paper pad to create the liners for my envelopes. It’s accents are gold instead of rose gold, but the plain papers matched pretty well.

5 front

What more can I say…this paper is just so gorgeous, it was easy to let it shine.

5 card and envelope

Thanks for stopping by to check out my cards today, I’ll have the second half of the card kit for you tomorrow.

xoxo, Sarah
