10 Cards | 1 Kit – SSS August 2019 Card Kit (Part 1 of 2)

Hi there,

Can you believe it’s Thursday already? This week is flying by for me! Hope you’re all having a great week too. Today I’m sharing the first half of my 10C1K for the Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit, it’s called Party Like a Panda and is super cute. I had a lot of fun coming up with ideas to use with this stamp set and really liked the colorful papers that were included too. Here are my first 5 cards:

Here are some still shots for you:

The first thing I thought of when I saw this kit was a panda popping out from behind a bunch of presents and I’m so happy with how it turned out. I used my MFT Blueprints 32 die to create the slider channel and popped up the presents around it with some foam dots.

This card was a lot of work but so worth the end result.

For the inside, I continued the purple ink from the front and stamped a few of the confetti images around it.

This image is so cute with his deflated balloon and crushed box. I colored him with my copics and added that striped paper below, finishing up then by popping up the heat embossed sentiment.

Kept the inside simple with the sentiment and a few (non-crushed) presents.

I had so much fun with all of these images and punny sentiments. Here I added some pattern paper to my Neenah panel and then glued the balloons down and popped-up the final panda. Stamping the first panda and then gluing on the cut-out balloons is a great way to add the look of more dimension without having to double up on the pop dots.

I combined a few of the stamps for my inside sentiment and left it at that for this one.

This panda die cut is really cute but the deco flock was difficult for me to work with. I think it will be better to use with an actual foiling machine rather than die-cut and I’ll definitely give that a try. I don’t have a speech bubble die so I made my own by tracing the bottom of a container and then adding the little point.

I used the back of the pattern paper to add a little more purple to finish up the inside.

I can’t decide which image was my favorite, but I really loved this little guy holding the cake. Here I added some pattern paper at an angle and then stamped my sentiment along the edge. I glued the balloons directly on the paper and then popped up the panda for some dimension.

For the inside, I stamped happy birthday and then a bunch of little stars around for some confetti. I really loved those stars as you’ll see in the cards to come!

I just had so much fun with this kit – can’t wait to show you the rest tomorrow. xoxo, Sarah
