Happy hump-day!
One of my best friends recently had a baby (a little boy) and I’ve just returned from taking them dinner and holding him for about an hour – sigh – he’s perfect! I didn’t want to let go and they are so exhausted but oh so happy. That new baby smell is just the best, isn’t it?
Today I’m sharing part 1 of my 10 Cards 1 Kit using the February Spellbinders Kit. I’m LOVING the swan die that was included with this one – I’ll be making loads of these as embellishments for happy mail. The rest of the kit was also amazing, as usual. Here is what I came up with:
Here are some still shots of the finished cards for you:
I loved this figure as soon as I saw her – I’m calling this the namaste card and I was really hoping that would be one of the sticker sentiments.
Alas, I went with the “believe in magic” sentiment which I think works just as well.
So you will probably laugh, but I was watching ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ while I was working and this card was sort of inspired by the wedding scene with that moat of water on the aisle. I was thinking of the water and the flowers and thought I’d create this little swan swimming in a grotto with some pretty flowers hanging down. I finally used that bloom tool and it did not disappoint! The dimension I was able to get on the flowers was amazing and so easy to do. * Make sure you are using it on a soft rubbery surface like an embossing mat – that allows the paper to stretch more freely.
Since I was thinking wedding with this card, “dreams come true” seemed the perfect way to finish it.
I loved this gold script pattern paper and thought that it matched the stamped sentiment really well.
I’ve carried that paper here to accent the inside and finished up with that wonderful stamp. I really liked these sentiments and can see myself using them a lot. The script-y fonts are gorgeous.
I’m going back to those flowers again here – LOVING that dimension!
Such an awesome sticker – I would love a stamp with this sentiment.
Last for today I’ve got a birthday card. I’ve popped those presents up on top of the candles and the balloon made for a very easy front sentiment.
This was such a cute piece of ephemera – it’s nice to have a different sentiment than “happy birthday” every once and a while.
As always, thanks for stopping by today – I hope you’re not as late digging into this kit as I am, but if you are…hope this gave you some inspiration to get going! xoxo, Sarah
