10 Cards 1 Kit

10 Cards | 1 Kit – SSS February Card Kit (Part 2 of 2)

Hi-ya!

Hope you’re all having a fabulous weekend. It rained all day today (I’m typing this late at night, so to me it’s still Saturday) but that’s ok – it made for a cozy kind of day. I’m back with part 2 of the Simon Says Stamp February Card Kit. I think this second batch of cards is my favorite, so without further ado here is the video:

Some stills for you:

7

I’m really happy with how this desk card came out – mine is SOOO much messier though!

7inside

I used to be so fearful of cutting stamps, but once you jump in and do it you see how easily they go back together again.

7close10

I almost never use embossing folders anymore – this card kit might get me back into them!

10inside

It felt a little funny stamping this sentiment in black, but I think all the cameras added enough color for it to make sense.

10close9

I wanted to include all kinds of craftyness with this card kit so I was glad I figured out a way to showcase painting.

9inside

I have several friends from art school who would love this card – I may have to make a few more!

9close6

This is my favorite of the bunch. It took me almost 2 hours to put this together but the end result was WELL worth it. Not sure who is going to get this beauty yet, but it will definitely go someone who will appreciate the time it took to make.

6inside

I googled quilting sentiments and when this one came up, I thought it was perfect.

6close

The white overlay stripes really helped to sharpen up the lines of the quilt blocks.

8close

Super simple, but really fun. I think.

8inside

The inside needs a little more. I may go back and add some stitching lines or a stamp or two of the scissors before I send it.

8

Loads of dimension there, no foam tape necessary.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my cards. xoxo, Sarah

10 Cards 1 Kit

10 Cards | 1 Kit – SSS February Card Kit (Part 1 of 2)

Happy Friday! I’ve been ready for my weekend since Wednesday – it’s been a busy week.

I’m working with the SSS February 2018 Card Kit and it is currently still available. I’ll be honest, I had to really think with this kit. It’s stuffed full of great items but the paper wasn’t really speaking to me. I decided to add in both of the I’d Rather Be Crafting ephemera packs and one of the 12 x 12 scrapbook papers that I thought had some cute sentiments. With the card kits this year I want to make the best cards possible, even if that means adding in some extras. I know not everyone wants to or can do that though, so I’ll try to keep at least 5 cards that can be made with just the items in the kit. Here are my first 5 cards:

Some stills for you:

1

Just about every craft room has a bulletin board so this idea came to me fairly quickly when I was looking a through the papers and ephemera. Also, I feel like brads are making a little bit of a comeback on cards and this was the perfect way to use some of my stash.

1inside

I agree with that sentiment completely – I’m always ready to craft!

1close2

Though cards have mostly taken over my crafting life, I actually double majored in Graphic Arts and Textiles so sewing has a special place in my heart and I don’t pick it up nearly as often as I’d like. I was really happy to create some cards I can send to my stitching friends.

2inside

I love this sentiment and know I will use it over and over again. It’s such a great simple encouragement.

2close3

After the details on the first two cards I was itching for something more simple and this card was perfect. Who wouldn’t smile opening a card with those rainbow hellos on it? I also love the little heart detail in the center of the O.

3inside

A lot of these sentiments were really small and I tend not to use those very often. I thought trimming this larger stamp apart worked well to complete both the front and the inside of the card.

3close4

As you know by now, I love a gatefold card. This strip from the 12 x 12 pattern paper worked perfectly as a belly band to keep it closed and I could just kick myself for trimming it before I actually used it. It worked out alright in the end though.

4inside

This pocket die from Lawn Fawn is new (to me), really cute and sized perfectly for a gift card. I can see myself using it quite often. It’s a great way to add another pop of color on the inside of the card.

4close5

What a great sentiment! I liked that this paper collection lends itself to encouraging cards. We can all use those!

5inside

And that ‘hugs enclosed’ sentiment is the perfect way to finish it off.

5close

As always I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by. I hope I’ve given you some inspiration to get crafting! xoxo, Sarah

10 Cards 1 Kit

10 Cards | 1 Kit – SSS January Card Kit (Part 2 of 2)

Hello,

Happy almost Friday! Anyone have fun plans for the weekend? I’m hoping to make a trip to Tuesday Morning at some point, it feels like it’s been forever since I’ve gone. Not that I really need anything, but I’m sure I’ll find something fun. Speaking of needing something I wanted to let you know that Michaels has all their organizers on sale and there’s an additional 20% coupon off your entire order (even sale items) still valid through today, it’s a great time to stock up. You can find all the info in their app.

Anywho…without further ado, here is the video for the second half of the SSS January 10 Cards, 1 Kit:

Here are some stills of the finished cards:

6 front

It’s been a while since I’ve done a gate-fold card I always like the way these look.

6 inside

That Delicata ink is a really lovely shade of pink.

6 close up

7 front

This card turned out to be my favorite! I love the look of texture paste and it’s so much fun to work with.

7 inside

I kept it simple and sweet on the inside, just a touch of pink for the sentiment and that’s it.

7 close up

8 front

I always try to use everything in the kit at least once. I kept going back to the heart stickers and was glad was able to make it work with this card. I think it looks perfect there actually.

8 inside

LOOOOVE that minty fresh ink – I could use it on every card!

8 envelope

9 front

Ok, this card is my second favorite, I just love this pop-up idea.

9 inside

Looks just like a cookie right?!? Yum.

9 envelope

10 front

The pink gingham reminds me of a picnic table.

10 inside

Again, I could put that mint ink on everything and I’m really in love with those block words. I’ll definitely use this stamp set over and over again each year.

10 close up

Here are some close-ups of the envelopes I embellished. I used that same stencil and texture paste on 3 of them. I also added some of the ephemera pieces to the other two.

e1e2 front

Be warned…if you add that glitter dust to your texture paste…It will go everywhere and continue to go everywhere every time you touch that envelope afterward. It’s so pretty though right?

e2 backe5e4e3

Even with the sparkly glitter paste, I think this is my favorite envelope. There’s just something so sweet about that tied on tag.

Thanks for stopping by – xoxo, Sarah

10 Cards 1 Kit

10 Cards | 1 Kit – SSS January Card Kit (Part 1 of 2)

Hello,

Hope the new year is treating everyone well! Today I’m sharing with you the first half of my 10 Cards, 1 Kit for the January Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. I had so much fun with this kit and I LOOOVE the stamp set. At first, I wasn’t sure about those block word stamps, but once I stamped them out I wanted to use them on everything!

Here’s the video of what I came up with:

Here are some stills of the final cards:

1 front

These envelopes are so cute. Originally I thought I’d put those small cut-outs inside them, but it was too difficult to maneuver them in and out so I decided to glue them on top instead.

1 inside

These stamps are wonderful. That scripty font and the subtle heart in the tail of the y. Love it!

1 close up

I did some embellishment on the envelopes that came in the kit too but didn’t video it because of the time. I’ll share more detailed photos of those in the next post.

2 front

That stripe of cut-a-parts makes for such an easy card front. I wanted to add just a touch more with that sweet sentiment and help it pop with that outline of red.

2 inside

I rarely go to pigment inks, but that Delicata pink ink is fabulous.

3 close up

Don’t you just love that mint and pink combo?

3 front

Or a mint and black combo for that matter. I’ll take all the mint I can get lately.

3 inside

Again that script is just so pretty and I thought that line of xoxox was a nice accent.

3 envelope

The cut-a-parts in this paper pack are really great. I’d like to get one of the 12 x 12 scrapbook sheets to cut apart for larger cards too.

4 front

I originally planned to stamp those words on white and then back them with red and pink but decided it would be too bulky. Ultimately  I’m happy with the design but I think I would have liked the letters in white better.

4 inside

Sweet and simple inside…xoxo says it all.

4 close up

Those MFT windows are a super easy way to make a shaker card. If you’re tired of layering foam tape…you should give them a try.

5 front

This background paper was one of my favorites – love those conversation hearts.

5 inside

Mixing a larger sentiment with one or two of the smaller squares really makes the inside of the card look complete.

5 envelope

I wish I had a brand name for that ribbon. I would buy several packs!

Thanks for stopping by to check out my first post of the year – I’m looking forward to lots more cards in 2018. xoxo, Sarah

10 Cards 1 Kit · 12 Days of Christmas

12 Days of Christmas | Simon Says Stamp (Part 2 of 2) + Hidden Giveaway Winner!

Whew…just made it! (technically it’s still December for another hour)

Happy New Year!!

So sorry for the delay in posting this, I’ve had it edited for a week but had to do the voiceover and although I took everything home with me to Pennsylvania I was swamped with family stuff and just didn’t get to it. So without further ado – here are the last 5 Cards from the Simon Says Stamp December 2017 Card Kit:

And here are the stills:

1 front

This paper was so pretty, I just wanted to let it shine.

1 close

Love those gum drop stickers and they accented the paper perfectly.

2 front

I think if I had to do it again, I would have rounded the corners on the Santa card to make it more similar to a journaling card.

2 close

That Marvy pen is so much fun…really I could put it on everything!

3 front

I’m happy how this turned out, but after I finished I thought it would be really fun to to “wrap” the front of the card across the middle as well as if it was a present and put the tag in the middle, but I didn’t want to  put another hole in the top so I left it as it was. Idea for next year though…

3 close

I really love the combination of the Santa tag, the flag and the bow.

4 front

This tri-square die is so versatile. I’ve used it on lots of card and it’s a really great go-to when I’m running out of ideas. I’m always pleased with how the designs turn out though, must be something about that rule of thirds.

4 close

Those gingerbread men are so cute!

5 front

It’s been a while since I’ve done a patterned background like this, it changes it up a bit to leave the sentiment half on/half off the pattern.

5 close

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you’ve had a Merry Christmas and wish you a very Happy New Year! I’ve really enjoyed sharing all my card ideas with you for the past several months and am looking forward to sharing more in the next year.

12 Days of Christmas | Mama Elephant – Yeti Christmas

HELLOOOOO

This is going to be a super quick one! My days at work are getting crazier and crazier as the week goes by so who knows what tomorrow holds. I keep staying late and that pushes me later with my filming, wrapping, baking etc. But…next week I’m on VACATION and I’m so ready. Today I’m working with Mama Elephant’s Yeti stamps – these are super cute, I ordered them right away and have way more ideas of things to try, so this might end up being a Christmas series tradition…

For those of you who maybe just like to look at the photos below…you should check out the video today:  (hint hint)

And here are the stills:

front

He’s so cute!!

closer

I’m seriously ready to put those snowflake sequins on everything – you’ll probably see them again this series.

inside

That script font is to die for right?

close inside

It’s such a feeling of satisfaction when I can match an ink color with card stock so closely. Is anyone else obsessed with that?

Thanks so much for stopping by. xoxo, Sarah

10 Cards | 1 Kit – SSS November Card Kit (Part 2 of 2)

Hello hello!

As promised…Part no.2:

and some still shots:

6 front

This is another favorite from the bunch. The picture doesn’t do it justice – that light pink mixed with the white and gold is sheer perfection!

6 inside

That sentiment is so sweet.

7 front

I thought this would be great to leave behind after an overnight stay at a friends house.

7 inside

8 front

I went a little darker on this one. I was really tempted to save this background sheet for a Christmas card, but it matched so perfectly with the tag I had to use it.

8 inside

9 front

You know I couldn’t go a full 10 cards without pulling out the Prismacolors to use on those gorgeous flowers.

9 inside

10 front

I really loved this butterfly sticker. The sticker underneath also had a butterfly, but this one was slightly bigger and I thought it gave it a nice accent by popping it up.

10 inside

Again…I can’t praise this stamp set enough – just the inside statements alone can be used for so may different types of cards.

This kit was stuffed with so many goodies I couldn’t stop at just 10 so I made a few more. (And I still have tons left to share with my nice.) Here are 3 additional cards I came up with:

twelve

I thought this would be really cute to go with baby gift!
