10 Cards | 1 Kit – SSS July Card Kit (Part 3 of 3)

Hello there,

I’m back with the last part of the cards I created using Simon Says Stamp July 2018 Card Kit. These cards will focus on the pattern papers included in the kit. Here is what I came up with:

Here are some close-up photos for you:

I liked this pattern paper the best out of the bunch. I know I complained about them a bit, but I did enjoy the idea of the overhead shots that some of them had.

This stamp perplexed me a bit at first and I didn’t think I’d use it, but it really worked perfectly for beach and pool themed cards.

Again, I liked the overhead shot so I did this card similar to the first one and just let the paper shine.

I saved that extra strip from the first card and added a mini beach scene to the inside of this one.

Adding those sequins as scales on the fish was one of the first ideas I came up with for this kit and I’m really pleased with how it worked out. It really gives a lot of shine to the card.

I went to my Cricut and used it to write out this fishy inside sentiment, then added a few more stamped fish to finish it off. As I mention in the video, it takes a little longer but there are some great ABC stamp sets out there that you can use to write out specific sentiments for your card. Lawn Fawn’s Milo’s ABCs is my favorite.

I again used my Cricut to cut out this drink and then turned it into a shaker (which moves but doesn’t really shake). It gave me the look I was going for though. If you don’t have a Cricut, there is a great martini shaker die and stamp set from MFT that would give you a similar look.

I kept the inside super simple since the front was so detailed and finished it off with some washi and a leftover cardstock strip from one of my previous cards.

For this last card, I used this pool patterned paper and another one of the cutouts as the sentiment. I used an embossing folder that mimicked a raft and added a pink bikini using one of the SSS dies from a card kit last summer.

I again went pretty simple with the inside and just finished it off with the sunshine sentiment.

So this will finish up the cards using the July card kit and just in time because my August card kit arrived in the mail this week 🙂 I’ll probably be a little later with that kit because of my moving but I’ll get it out to you as soon as I can and in the meantime I’ve got a few happy mail videos that I’ve already recorded and I’ll post those as soon as I can get the voiceovers done. Thanks, as always, for stopping by. xoxo, Sarah
