Hello There,

Today I’m sharing some cards I made for the Simon Says Stamp – Wednesday Challenge. This week they’ve asked us to create some texture and use Tim Holtz products if we have them. I had lots of fun creating all the texture and using the cats from this stamp set (it’s been sitting in my “to use” pile for way too long)! Here is what I came up with:

I think I mentioned in the card kit post that I don’t often use embossing folders – I’m loving this one. The texture is so much fun to run your fingers over (esp if you use a good quality cardstock).

These cats are so much fun – you can almost see the next scene there where he’s pounced and is tearing that yarn apart.

As I mentioned in the video I finished off the inside of the card using the SSS-Kind Flowers stamp set – this set has lots of wonderful sentiments and is really handy because I make thank you cards the most.

This cat is my favorite – I love a calico cat and was so happy with how the coloring came out. You can almost see him thinking “What? For me?” while looking back at that milk.

It took a while to come up with the color for that texture paste but it was worth it – I’m super happy with the result. This is one of my favorite stencils it looks great with texture paste or just plain ink blending.

I used my envelope punch board to create coordinating envelopes for each card. The cards are just slightly smaller than 4-bar, so I used that size for the envelope measurements and it worked perfectly.

Thank goodness that orange toned down a bit when it dried – he was looking slightly more neon than I was going for!

I love these stamps from Heidi Swapp – they are really meant for planners, but her handwriting is so pretty and I think they work great for cards.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again – that Minty Fresh ink is just to die for.
