Hello there,

Happy almost Friday – our weekend is (unbelievably) calling for snow somehow, so I hope yours is full of spring sunshine wherever you are. Today I’m sharing part one of the 10 cards I created using the SSS April Card Kit, I hope you’re ready for LOADS of butterflies. Here we go:

As I said in the video, the brush worked really well to put the color down through the stencil and I think the more I use it the more I will like it. I’m really comfortable with my sponges but the idea of not getting my fingers messy every time I change colors is nice. In the video I saw of Tim using them he said you really only need one for each color family so it wouldn’t be too costly to switch over.

I generally grab for my lawn fawn inks (unless I’m blending) but after pulling these out for the first card I decided to keep stamping with them and it reminded me of how beautiful those distress oxides really are just on their own. I need to remember to use them more often for just plain stamping. Especially that seedless preserves!

Oh! How I love dimension and this card is overflowing with it. Those mini butterflies turned out exactly how I was hoping!

Thought I’d try something different and add some of these cutouts on the inside instead of stamping per usual.

If I’m honest, I’m a bit meh about this card. It doesn’t look finished to me and I can’t figure out what it needs, so I just kept adding things. Maybe I used too many light colors. The only thing I do like is the coloring of the butterfly. What do you guys think? What am I missing?

Again I’m loving the stamping with the distress oxides.

I LOOOVE that paper! I know you think I’m crazy for bringing in another butterfly when the stamp set was so gorgeous, but I wanted to stamp the sentiment on the inside of a butterfly and this was just so much easier than fussy cutting. (In my defense, I did do a lot of fussy cutting with this kit.)

I really like the adore sentiment – this is a little lighter way to say I love you and easier I think to use on cards for friends.

Do you know how much I wanted a stamp that said “better than all the rest” for the inside?!? lol. I suppose I could have gone to my Cricut, but I refrained.

It was hard to choose a favorite paper in this kit – this was a really close second. I love anything rainbow so the entire set of papers was right up my alley. I keep most of my crafty products in rainbow order (as well as my closet).

I thought it would be fun to stamp the sentiment over this rainbow stripe – a little extra pop of sunshine on the inside.
