Hello! Hope your week is going well…

Over the weekend I was in the mood to watercolor (I blame the SSS June card kit) so I pulled out the Mama Elephant Botanic Hello stamp set and went to work.

I’ve had this stamp set sitting in my stash for months now and don’t know what took me so long to get to it. Just time I guess, there is never enough of it. Especially for crafting! I started keeping all the stamps I purchase in a box and I’m not allowed to put them away until they’ve been used at least once. I’ll never catch up, but it’s a problem I wouldn’t wish to be rid of (though I have slowed down a bit).

I used my Kuretake watercolor set and since I did the clear embossing and it’s difficult to see on the white paper, I thought it was really fun to watch it appear as I added the colors.

It ended up being very tropical which worked out well for a summer time card.

I didn’t show it in the video, but while I was at it, I stamped a second image and heat embossed it in black because I wasn’t sure what kind of outline I wanted to work with. I decided I liked the clear embossing best, but I had the second panel so I went ahead and watercolored it with the exact same colors.

I still like the lighter image best, but I wanted to share the second card with you too. Crazy how different the same colors can look just with the change in embossing powder and finishing huh? Let me know which one you like best in the comments below.
